  • This is well worth saving but I just don't have the room to take on yet another project. Someone buy this!

  • price bump

    Frame + Chrome LFG forks = 70
    Frame + Original pink forks = 60

    frame+ both forks = 90

forks available separately once frame is sold,
    original 20
    chrome 30

Thanks chaps. have a good weekend.

  • You could also drip some brass into the BB and then file / dremel it smooth and re-tap...
[disclaimer - I have no idea what I'm talking about]

  • Update.
vavere is leaving the country tomorrow and is really desperate for the pink forks, so im going to let him have them this evening.

    everything else still for sale.

  • What's the steerer length on the chrome forks?

  • it is about 195mm give or take a bit.

  • Has this been resolved yet?

  • I reckon the best thing to do is get a new sleeve for it made, either put a threadless bb in there or get it threaded (the sleeve that is). I just recently sent my Coventry eagle off to have a sleeve inserted into the bb. It was such a large bb it needed a sleeve to insert the 'frame saver' bb i brought. In total the job was £50 and bb was £25. Pricey but worth it. For me it was a labour or love and if i wasn't already restoring an annoying piece of work i would take this on.

Best of luck to whoever takes this on would love to see it finished!

  • more pics added to OP

    frame+chrome forks+headset = 65
    chrome forks = 30
just frame without forks = 40

  • Dibs on the chrome forks

  • provisional dibs on the frame

  • look s like everything is gone for now.
    thanks all

  • this is still up for sale.

so from what i have gathered there are a few solutions for this:

bad ideas that might work (at your own risk)

    1. just use it. it might be ok. there currently is a bb fitted in and it is tight. I wouldnt do this.
    2. use shitloads of really strong glue in it - apparently works fine sometimes, but also means it will be very difficult/impossible to take it back out

    safer ideas

    1. use a threadless bb (VO ones are £30)
    2. Mavic super BB mentioned above - i imagine this is something similar to threadless
    3. thread the shell to take Italian BBs as they are 1mm larger, the shell can be reamed out a bit
    4. build a new shell interior from somewhere like Argos.

sorry for the bump but i thought id summarize

you can use PTFE tape :)

  • A few pics of how the bob jackson turned out, bought a replacement old fork, got it resprayed, stocked with nuovo record campag, I fixed the bb shell with an oversize cup, which is holding firm in the old thread.

  • ^That is amazing. I think the forum needs a "back from the dead" thread... if it doesn't have one already?

  • Bravo!

That frame did sit around for a year and a half before I got around to it, then another few months with mario vaz.. So I could of been a little quicker. Got a holdsworth mistral, mercian professional and a francesco moser coming next. Hopefully a little quicker!
