2013-08-11 - Herne Bay - Fixed

Sunday 11 August, just over 120kms of easy rolling to Herne Bay on the Kent Coast

Fish and Chips,(traffic free coast path to Margate) train back.

**Please only bring a fixed or single speed bike on this ride.
**(Road bikes by appointment only [pm me] - injuries, weak knees, etcetera.)

This is a casual, shorts and t-shirts ride(that waits for everybody) to the coast with fish & chips and beer waiting.

This is not a race, or a training session, or to be taken at all seriously, you do not need any special equipment or clothing.

Second best ride of the year. That section along the seawall under the cliffs onto Margate was beautiful.

Shooters hill - easy rolling?

I haven't a clue whether I'll be around for this - but count me in. It's a fine route and a fine destination (my ancestral home, there's still an old shop premises there with my surname painted on the side)

Shooters hill - easy rolling?

That one doesn't count, you have to leave London somehow.

The only two hills to think about are Flower Hill(28KM) and Basser Hill(60KM).
These are both short but steep and hit you turning a corner
I'll give advanced warning.

Any other hills are small or predictable enough to get a rhythm on.
Its a pretty easy ride with a great final few KMs.

^^^ if i don't struggle on these hills, they ain't too bad

I have no idea whether I'll be able to do this ride, but I know that I'd like to.
I suspect I'll be deploying the 24" gear on Basser Hill.
