Finally my pink beauty has arrived.
(Mash/Smooth Welds/IH)
No damage to the box/frame. Paint coverage seems good. I've measured everything and it all seems spot on (precisely 1900g too)
I ordered a Nelson 700c (653g -uncut for those interested) due to the 35mm rake and brake compatability as well as being for an integrated headset. I didn't realise it meant for an oversized crown. Basically the frame has a 45mm outer ⌀ while the fork has a crown ⌀ of 50mm.
Do i succumb to my ocd and replace the fork or just ride the hell out of it anyway?
tl;dr - i'm an idiot, what to do?

what decent fork would have a crown that looks good on a external headset?
-
• #2307
@ Rincewind that depends on the headtube width I suppose

But he has an Integrated headest.

I believe there are several different IHS outer diameters. It's hard to find info about fork crown diameters so it's always a bit hit and miss.
Morale of the story... If in doubt, always go for the Alpina! ;)

the leader 1 1/8 steel ones look good, esp raw version
30mm rake is hella pricy though -

Yeah i've found it difficult to confirm info on the outer-diameter of forks...
I looked at the alpinas - was sorely tempted, but seeing as this is my first fixed (especially for the Ribble clearance pair) - the inability to use a brake put me off.
Thanks for all the help - probably going to suck it up and ride with extra crown.

inability?
arent alpinas drillable? -

arent alpinas drillable?I don't believe they are - the bolt in centre is for reinforcing the crown and shouldnt be removed, no?

The bot is just holding in the rear plug covering the hole isn't it?
-
• #2317
yeah think its something like that, what ever it is i'd go to someone who knows what theyre doing as i went to a few bike shops who "had a go" with a hand drill and couldnt get it out then ted did it for me with ease in about 2 minutes
