you can buy this kind of thing ^
make sure you purchase some spare rubber washers as they wear down and the pump doesn't grip the valve -

thank you for quick response, but it's the whole pump head mechanism that's failed rather than just the converter. Anyway, I think that I've found the solution, and should have UTFS better:

For general use I recommend the Topeak replacement head kit, but for presta valve only this is great:-

I think I will get the multipurpose SKS one from chain reaction (keep it all the same brand):
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=65846
But that presta only "active life" one looks good. Has anyone compared it to the one it is based on:

?
Active life say that theirs is better (they would) but MDCC_tester implied on the other thread that it was worse....

I have this one, which I recommend:
+1. Make sure you get it with this connector:
It's very, very good. It's called 'Multi-Valve Hose Connection' here, but I don't know if that's the official name:

I've still got the old head, still meaning to get the new one, still not got round to it
-

If you email SKS to moan about the original head they'll happily (I think!) send you a new one, complete with hose.
They seem to be well aware that the old one was a PITA!

This is the one they sent me BTW...

Saturday AM, parcel arrived - containing replacement original style hose and adaptor AND upgraded hose and adaptor (same as dammit posted).
Amazing customer service, definitely worth spending the extra £20 on the Rennkompressor and hopefully it'll now last for ages.

It's official, SKS rule.

I've just ordered myself an SKS Rennkornflakepressure based mainly on their durability and on the ability to obtain spares. My cheapie P-X is still working though..

I have 2 SKS hoses, like this.
One is broken, the rubber hose has actually broken. It could be repaired by someone with patience, a pair of heavy duty long nosed pliers and good forearm strength. As you can buy replacement adaptors only, there must be a way to fit it I think.
**This is free to anyone who wants it. **(You've got to collect it, PM me)
One is perfect, brand new condition. As posted above, they sent me two, one which I have fitted and one which is sitting on the side.
This is "for sale" for a £10 donation to lfgss.(PM me)

bump. I still have free spare SKS bike pump hoses, as described above.
PM me.
I've got a Rennkompressor with the irritating presta converter
I think they have brought out a newer one with a better pump head. Mine is broken.
I understand that you can replace the head, does anyone know what will fit - I am half way through placing a cycle basket order and want this to fit, anyone have any idea?
Thank you!
