oh! this isnt what i thought at all. think i was thrown by the word 'nipples'

you'd be better off with brass. the alu nipples can 'weld' themselves to the rim

As Chisa said, you'd probably be better to use standard 12mm brass nipples. The polyax are meant for deep section rims which can suffer from more extreme nipple angels. 25mm Archetype's aren't likely to have this issue.

Right yea the Polyax is just the shape, pretty sure they come in both brass and alu, coll cheers.

Brass all the way. Length of nipple apparently doesn't matter that much - they all have the same length of thread, starting from the "head" end (according to one of the gurus, Schraner, I think it was).

As for spoke length - if you're still pondering this - there are a number of spoke calculators out there on the interweb. I've managed to waste hard earned cash trying to get a wheel trued and tensioned with spokes that are too long! So, my advice is work it out, then work it out again. Then, when you've done that, work it out once more. Then, you're good to go buy spokes of the right length!
If you've got an Aluminium rim, (in theory) you should have problems with Al nipples. But, I agree with others on here, brass is safer.
If in doubt, consult Sheldon...

Yea, Brown knows best, just used that spread sheet he recommended as well as a few others, which gave the same results, built up the wheels and there sweet!
Help, building up some H plus Son Archetypes, with Goldtec track hubs. Wanted some Sapim Race spokes and Polyax nipples. Very confused with what dimension of nipples to buy, with different weights and lengths. Are these dependent on the spokes or the rim? If any one could advise me on a specific dimension of these spokes/nipples for this build I would be very grateful!
