I have a alloy quill stem stuck. I'd really like to get it out without cutting it off as its pantographed. I have tried various methods proposed on this forum and others but no luck. The only thing left to try is caustic soda to dissolve the stem (obviously this means goodbye stem) or i have seen some mavericks suggest sulphuric acid. My question to any chemists out there is will sulphuric acid damage the steel frame?
