  • I have 34 light weight wwr, and 36 winter wwr... it is confusing

because they expect you to want room to layer up maybe?

  • Have come to realise the only pair of jeans I wear these days are my Swrve ones, the skinny ones. Am going to buy another one but wondering if anyone might suggest an alternative at the 11th hour, just because I'd prefer another pair of cycling jeans that aren't identical apart from the wear. Muxu don't look to be skinny enough, any others out there?

  • Levis Commuter (511) ?

Edit - 511 cut is more 'Slim' than 'Skinny' actually

  • So im looking to buy the mid weight wwr trousers, but the sizing is confusing the hell out of me, normally i wear pants that are around 32 at the hipbone, but when measuring and looking at the their chart im supposed to go with 34 or almost 36. Am i measuring wrong or are the their sizes very different from other pants in general? I get around 89cm when measuring.

I'm a 32 in jeans (or rather a 30 in raw denim that stretches to a 32). I've got the 3/4 trousers in 32 that fit really well and short shorts in 32 that are on the large side, would prob go down to 31 next time.

  • because they expect you to want room to layer up maybe?

perhaps but it's a 36 without anything but a base layer tucked in. Yet the 34 lightweight fit the same.

Mind, the lightweight are older so may have stretched lol

  • I'm looking to sell some swrve cotton trousers in black or very dark grey (they look black to me, but my receipt says dark grey) 32"W, 32" L for £50. new, with tags, just been tried on and don't suit me.

In terms of fit, they seem reasonably true to 32", maybe on the snug side.

can post at cost but would prefer to meet at beers or in central.

I am also after a full-leg version of the cotton skinny fit 3/4's - would I have more luck with the jeans? The summer-weight skinny jeans look like a similar cut (and have the same pocket fabric), or maybe the pre-shrunk skinny fit? I'd rather they weren't super lightweight, I want them for winter...

  • ^ I'd be interested in those trousers of yours. Where are you based? Would like to try first if that's cool? 32 might be on the short side

  • south, sometimes work way out east or in clerkenwell. can meet at Look Mum for trying on? or I sometimes go to souths/south-easts beers. pretty busy this week and weekend, but next week should be ok.

I have the mid weight WWR 3/4 length in 36 and am 36 at hip or 91 cm according to my measuring tape. The 36s are waaaaay to big for me. Also have 34 in soft-shell which fit well, no real need for a belt but not tight. Make of that what you will but sounds like 32 would fit you fine.

If you're in Central London Condor have them.

  • Ah no sadly im in Sweden, so no chance of trying them on. But going by what you and kboy are saying 32-33ish should prolly be all right. Thanks!

  • Blue Lug seem to have stock of the "deck jacket" now.

    Did they ever release this?!?!

  • American have more choices I reckon, the Milwaukee are in different colour over the ocean.

  • I have a deck jacket, my girlfriend ordered it for me direct from Swrve in the US as a valentines present. She was lucky as the package managed to dodge customs charges too.

Its been ace as a casual and riding jacket in the recent bad weather, I fully recommend one.

  • Are there any discount codes doing the rounds right now? I'm in the market for some cotton 3/4 shorts in black 33" (in case anyone has some for sale, too).

  • Aha! Found a code!

  • care to share?!

  • yeahhh share.
Almost bought some gloves before but couldnt justify the money.

  • Does anybody know of a decent equivalent to the Cigarette shorts?

They don't have them in my size and I emailed them but they don't know when the new stock will be in. I'm in urgent need of some decent on/off bike shorts. Any brand. No outdoors shop I've tried really has anything in.

I'm talking shorts for cycling that are NOT lycra cycling shorts but which are a slim/skinny jean type cut. Cigarettes are £55 so anything near that price point...??

  • rapha touring shorts?

  • touring shorts aren't jeans and have shit pockets (good for touring though)

    less stops, makes sense.

The cigarette shorts and the standard 3/4 shorts are pretty much the same from my experience, you could buy the longer one and cut it off yourself or have someone do it so proper like.

  • Thanks for the input so far. Is anyone able to say whether the Rapha Luxury Touring (FFS) shorts are better than Swrve's WWR? They look very similar.

Both seem a little baggier than I'm after but beggars and choosers make strange bedfellows. Or something.

I have some skinny 3/4s and some cigarette shorts, going to cut down the 3/4s, think the cut is pretty much identical.

Sorry I actually mean the men's shorts cotton, not the WWR.
