  • so, never having heard about these let alone seen one before, does anyone have an opinion of them>?

    i think its mad as all hell, and i love the old style slider stem (anyone haz for sale?) but i do kinda like this. anyway, i may have found one for sale, any idea how much a second hand one of these is worth?

  • Well they're ugly.

  • There's a modern OEM version that BLB had a year or two back but even they couldn't shift them.

  • Is it not intended for bike fitting or perhaps using on house bikes at the velodrome?
    Pointless on your own bike as you should know the length you need.

  • The idea dates back to the old days when you would ride out to the track on your racing bike, the bars would be on top of the stem to give you a more upright position for riding on the road.Your racing wheels were carried on 'sprint carriers' alongside the front wheel. When you got to the track you would change the wheels, take the brake off and move the bars underneath the stem and further forward. Then you were ready for racing.
