Could you guys afford to build up a couple of the mallets and give them away to 1 or 2 beginners on the day? perhaps the top goal scorers, or the ones who fall off least? this might make them feel more involved and part of the gang and want to come back?
It might be better to do a different beginners session than a Sunday or Wednesday if you want to make it regular too - something that also might help keep the beginners.
I'm rambling, but perhaps make Sunday 10am-12pm normal throw-ins then 12-2 beginners. anybody can play at anytime but with faster games in the morning and slower ones in the afternoon? If numbers tart to pick up from there, you could start doing training stuff if people wanted to?
