hairspray or wd40.

will that not make them slippy on the bars, as in will they twist around easily for a long time after ive got them on?
-

Hairspray is the answer. Glue like when it dries. But DO NOT try riding them before they dry. Could hurt.

the wd40 will dry out.
the hairspray is slightly better as when it dries it sticks.

alright thanks guys, i'll give that a go

I wouldn't use wd40. In my experience it donesn't really last. Super glue is the best.

Isopropyl if you want no residue at all, also, cover up the other end of your bars and push them on from the end of the grip, if you get it right they kind of float on a little layer of air.

huff once down the inside of the grip and then slide on, leave for 24 hours, sorted.

hairspray is the best trick, drys quite fast too. I had issues trying to get my grips off but soaked the bars & grips in hot water then they slid right off.

Plastikote clear laquer spray paint. OK, it sounds a bit odd painting the inside of your grips, but it works nicely. Spray some clear paint down the inside of the grip, and it'll help lubricate it as you slide it on. When it dries it'll help stick them in place. They're a bit of a bugger to get off, but IMHO it's better to have them too firmly stuck in place than not firmly enough.
Having said that, all but one of my flat bar bikes now have Lock-On grips or similar.

Lacquer and paint are great on the first application but I find not so good if you need to remove and refit the grip to fit a lever for instance.
The lacquer/paint always seems to stick to the grip more than the bar so when you refit it's not grippy rubber against the bar but harder shiny shell.More paint/lacquer will stick it down but it's never as good as the first time (that's what she said arf arf).

Spray adhesive. Get it from art supply stores.

Depending on the length of grip, as said above a good huff and whack it on be careful missing hurts lmao

or some alcohol wiped over bars. leave to dry befoer use. i've never felt the need to secure my grips with any type of adhesive

fill the sink with almost boiling water, hot enough that you can pick them out real quick. leave in for a minute
rub a bit of soap on the bars,
they go on alot easier when heated, usually wait till next morning before they are nice and tight again when the moisture dries out -

White spirit.
Only because I have a massive bottle in my garage.
Evaporates quick enough, leaves grips fairly secure (depends on grips, odi yeti stay put, demolition ones twist)
Also get lock ons /bikeradar
anyone know of a quick/easy way to put grips on a set of bars?
