For your own legal protection, it would have been best to have sought a certificate from a building control body.
One particular issue is whether or not a child can get trapped in any way at all.
e.g He can sue you if his kid gets stuck.
I honestly don't think building Control would pass that.
You could always prove me wrong by getting a certificate.
