Why is it shaped like that?

That's the Orthodox representation of the cross

Ed - that's an Orthodox Cross. Given the various schisms in Christianity, you don't expect them to agree on something as simple as the representation of a method of Roman execution do you?

Basically the Orthodox didn't have tippex in those day and age when they accidentally slipped on the horiztional line to make the cross then.

marcom is totally bonkers. I do not understand him one little bit. He sometimes, possibly often, posts inappropriate things. He should not. That said, this site would be much poorer without him. I would much prefer to read and see marcom's bonkers postings than a witch hunt against him.
This.
X a lot.

What wich hunt? All we asked him to do is link to images that could be considered NSFW. It's just normal respectful behaviour.
Then he decided to link off to more stuff, then counter the whole thing with images of nuns etc. It all turned a bit silly tbh, but calling it a wich hunt is a bit harsh?

Er, the last few pages... What a bunch of wankers...

This.
He posts some really great stuff but he's been asked plenty of times to do as everyone else does and moderate some of his posts to include links. If he continues to refuse and sometimes goes out of his way to be obtuse about it, then it's no-ones fault but his. -

That is a repost though, as I remember it was taken by a specialist wildfire investigator.
EDIT: It seems that it has a wiki page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elk_Bath
sorry about that, i didn't realize the picture was that well known. i used to live near the bitterroot and spent some time there, figured it was a local thing. the horse jumping through fire picture reminded me of the bitterroot fire picture.
