Tonight's VCL club turbo session was cancelled due to ice on the access road into the velodrome, so unless someone gets out and clears that it'll still be icy in the morning.

Endurance training only then.

I think I will go for a smaller gear tomorrow.

More importantly, still no sign of the track lighting being installed then!

Which will happen first, track lighting at HH, or the Pringle being open to the public? The race is on!

Last I heard the council's planning committee delayed consideration of the lighting proposal to Feb. 12.

There's not that much to tell. Some local residents are understandably concerned about noise, security and light pollution, and their concerns are outlined in the letters to the planning committee on the web site here:

HHVT, VCL and FHHV (alphabet soup!) are working to address those concerns, and many have been as you can see in the documents (see Officer's Report from Jan. 19). The project has been put out to tender and a contractor chosen, meaning that if approved there shouldn't be a long delay for works to begin. That all hangs on planning approval of course.

I think we need at least two more voluntary groups with acronymous names to really get to the bottom of this.
