If you have a Garmin mounted, expect to be asked to lead out so that you can navigate the bunch round the course.

seen it mounted on handlebars a couple of times. I think the coaches would ask you to put it in your jersey pocket rather than having it protrude from your bars should they see it.

You should not have anything that might distract you whilst riding so bar mount is a no no unless you taped it over. So put it in your pocket.

Not a good shout to have stuff in your pockets at the track... probably best to mount underneath the saddle.

I have had my garmin in my back jersey pocket at training before, probably not the best place but it is out the way then.
I have seen some one have one mounted on the top tube near the headset but I dont know if he got told off for that

Best thing to do is swallow it.
Then simply wait till you get home and pass a stool to find out what record-breaking speeds you have been achieving.

sticking it under the saddle seems a good shout. Cheers

I also work with a guy that logs his sub 5 mile commutes with his Garmin.
WTF dude, turning it on probably takes you longer than the ride itself!
It of course sits in his jacket pocket/bag bleeping away (why is it the most annoying bleep in the world?) for ages after he arrives at work.

I have stopped going on club runs due to every section being raced by strava freds. It is a good tool for mileage, but apart from that total shite.

at our outdoor track most people have it mounted on their stem/bars. they are only forbidden druing UCI sanctioned events or Provisional champs so people just put them in their pockets for that.
I dont see what the problem is. I only look at it after a sprint to check max speed. then check the data at home on the pc. its not really a distraction
there are virtually no accidents at our track either, 1 crash last year but no bad injuries, that was during a final lap sprint. then you have the young kids who have a little fall while getting used to clipless pedals, garmins arent a safety issue at all

How many people (roughly) use your track each week?

Anyone know the policy of using bike computers at training sessions at Herne Hill?
