Lovely! Yep, that's all it took to do my front hub as well, unlike the rest of the bits it was in decent nick to start with. Be warned, cranks take a little longer (removing anodising, plus loads of bloody awkward shapes). Enjoy your new obsession.....
Did you look at the cannibal Dolan on new projects? Couldn't resist a little light polishing there either.
