  • So at the end of last year I picked up a sweet Fort frame off of Colin The Bald.
It's undetermined on whether it's a low pro or not, though I'm pretty sure it is..

The idea is to build a good ole HHSB runarounder.
    So far I have - Thomson X2 90mm Stem

                     - Thomson Elite Inline (thanks to Apollo)
                     - Fizik Arione

The aim is to have it done by April latest - for TM's HHSB ride, but I'll hopefully get it done well before then.
I'm thinking black Sram Omniums with a 47t Sugino 75 chainring, H+Son Archetypes laced to BLB King hubs and of course some Restrap.

I'll upload more pictures as parts come together..

  • Nice! Looking forward to seeing it all HHSBed up.

  • Niice platform

  • Gotta agree - Nice platform.

    Matt

  • Glad to see this surface, it's a bit like watching your kid growing up and moving away! Yes it is a low profile, but the slope isn't that huge. I promise not to interfere..... All black bits?

  • It's undetermined on whether it's a low pro or not, though I'm pretty sure it is..

    1: Fit bullhorns
2: Place it next to your track bike
3: Check that hand position (relative to saddle and BB centre, i.e. the fit triangle) is identical between bull horns on the Fort and hooks of drops on your track bike

If it passes the test, it's a lo-pro. If it fails, it isn't. Doesn't matter what size wheels it has, or how the top tub slopes, or where the handlebars attach to it, there is only one test for lo-pro.

  • Lookin nice, subscribed.

  • Good points mdcc, but having met Dakin he's about my height at 5'10", that's a 54 frame with a very short head tube, I doubt he has a track bike, low profile it is!

  • Lo pro, bro pro, it's all good.

  • Tester does it count as a proper lo pro if you use bullhorns with a bit of drop to them?

Yes, use as much drop as you need to get your hands in the right place.

Haha yeah I feel that. Yeah all black black black. I'm so excited to actually get to ride it. It's been at the end of my bed looking dreamy the last month.

Yeah yeah I get how to do it. Just undetermined as I don't have drops at the moment.
I'm pretty certain it is - it has the same headtube design as the Fort TM was on as opposed to other faux pro Fort frames I have seen in the same size as mine.

  • TM has proven that his Fort is a lo-pro by lining it up with his drop-bar bike. If your fit is different, the same frame might or might not be a lo-pro for you. It's not about the frame, it's about the fit.

  • fair play

    that was me ;)

and it got the rare tester stamp of approval:

  • Also, dakin, glad the Thomson post is going back on a Fort ! ! !

  • Not tempted to go with black 75s?

Yes very but can't find any reasonably priced.. ):

Also, dakin, glad the Thomson post is going back on a Fort ! ! !

Yeah man! Going to look lush with the thomson stem. May later go for a thomson seatclamp too

  • Bitty help peoples?

Found a website - tracksupermarket.com , which sells Sugino 75 kit for reasonableish..
If I were to go for Sugino 75 cranks, would you recommend splashing the cash for a 75 BB as well?
As it has no choice of sizing do they run perfectly together clearance wise?

  • I wouldn't, campag veloce or centaur, or tifosi/token sealed ISO...

    Sealed FTW

  • Yep that's the one.

  • +1 for track supermarket. I saved 100 quid on parts, despite import and shipping. 3 day wait as well. Amazing. Sweet parts list joss.
