  • So do we keep commuting in the snow or give in to the non functional
Smelly public transport system? We have all come off before and I assume we all don't enjoy it. So is it really worth it to man up and ride? What's ur opinion and ways around coming short?

  • just use the main roads, they are well gritted and slushy, allow extra time and you should be fine.
if you've got the time and the finances, invest in a pair of wider treaded tyres, and swap out the slicks for them..

  • My advice is UTFS and pay the £1 fee:

  • Main roads are fine at the moment, hopefully the slush doesn't freeze over night

  • drop the pressure in your tyres a tad.

    right safe innnit.

  • Mudguards and ski gloves out. The traffic will be nice and slow

..plus super rad skiddzzz in the snow

  • Well its a go then I guess... With a little tea stop at lmnh too.

  • Stick to the main roads and you'll be able to commute well after public transport has ground to a halt.

  • I manned up and road in the snow today but i did fall off. If you ride slow enough and land in snow falling off isnt sooo bad.

Does it still count as a skid if your bike is skidding but your no longer attached?

  • I plan to buy a bike with really fat tires when my fixie is worn out, inorder to cope with all weather conditions. I am thinking of getting a cruiser or single speed mountain bike or even an adult sized BMX.

  • How do you 'wear out' a bike?

  • Too much sex

By boring it to death about talking about being a kool fixeh rider

  • Too much sex

    amen, that

out to brave the black ice, where im from

  • Tip for cold weather;

Mittens are vastly superior than Individually Fingered Gloves

  • don't lean

this has been covered at length

  • was mostly fine on the way in, slightly moar cuntishness from our metal clad bretherin but only because they cant see in the snow and those four tyres are hella slippy.

    didnotlean

  • good work - don't ever lean

  • The AA have warned that anyone travelling in icy conditions should take a shovel,blankets/sleeping bag, extra clothing (including scarf, hat & gloves), 24-hour supply of food and drink, de-icer, rock salt, torch, spare battery, petrol can, 1st aid kit & jump leads......

I looked a right cunt on the bus...............

  • ^ he!

  • I looked a right cunt on the bus...............
    y u no ride?

  • take the lane

  • I went down the mountain bike and ski goggles route. The ride home was so much fun I'm tempted to go out and do it again.

  • Wheelspins are fun.
