When I was 17 and living in (very rural) North Wales, cycling back from work one night I got attacked by 5 or so badgers. They were chilling out in the middle of the road and I figured they'd scatter when I got closer.
They didn't, and instead chased me up the road for a bit trying to bite my ankles.
Nasty, TB ridden little fuckers.
I was once mountain biking outside grand teton national park in jackson, wyoming. riding the single track back to my truck i came upon a badger in the track. he seemed to be frightened of me because he was running pretty hard, but any time i got close, he turned and bared his teeth at me. but still wouldn't get out of the track. a badger, even in a hurry, doesn't move very fast. i tried to go around, but the sage brush slowed me down enough i couldn't pass and even then he was threatening me. finally after about a half mile he ran off into the brush and let me pass.
i don't know about the TB, but they are nasty little fuckers.
