  • Ok, so here's one I built yesterday.....

I have had the 56 square Carbon Dolan (Beijing era) from new and the idea was to create something slim, sleek and ridiculously fast for the Summer, if it ever happens. Sod comfort, this is about speed! Yes, they're tubs and wildly impractical, but some bikes should be fun! If anyone hates the brake, tough, I live at the top of a mile or so of 10% and skidding tubs is a bad idea.... Oh, if I get the chance, 3 bolts and a change of bars and it's track-ready.

It feels a bit of a cheat putting this up for your chorus of raspberries as I already had most of the parts. The wheels and chainset are from my fixed TT frame (sold to Dakin, hope to see it on here soon), the bars and stem were filched from my road bike and were replaced with something even nicer and the brake and lever are from the parts bin. The saddle was £30 from a nice Chinese man and on the basis of a one hour ride is surprisingly comfortable.

I did polish the alloy bits quite a lot, what are dark evenings for anyway? It gave me an excuse to ignore the turbo!
