If people really walk into a bike shop and pay those prices, I might open a bike shop.
Enjoy paying your shop rent, staff costs, taxes and dealing with crappy distributors!
They have to make a living.
It looks expensive on the face of it but hopefully the owner got some joy from it.
Also I think we sometimes forget the hidden cost of becoming experts in all this and the time we spend sourcing parts and building stuff up. Sometimes it's OK to pay a bit just to get something done, if you have that luxury. The colors aren't to my taste but it looks like a solid build.
