There was a fair amount of discussing of this in the Pomp owners thread last week.
I did it on a Pompino with the DMR tugs, a 7speed hub and a recent Dura Ace mech.
It's thought the hangers put the mech a little outboard of the usual position and as such it may struggle to reach all gears.
Also believed that cold setting Pomps out to 130/135mm is a common cause of cracks in the chainstays.

Yeah, I saw the discussion in the Pomp thread but though I'd see if anyone else had any experiance using different hangers and which ones were rated. DMR hanger is pretty expensive compared to some of the others.

what about an internal gear hub? some of the shimano ones can be modified to fit a 120mm rear end

I've got a pompetamine with 135 spacing and already got a rear wheel ready to take a cassette so I'm pretty set on derailleur gears. Just need to figure out which hanger is going to work best.

Have you already got the derailleur? Maybe just get one with a bracket mount like this:
If you do the wheel nut up nice and tight it should prevent any swing under chain tension, right?

is there any chance of turning that awin1.com shit off?
Looking to put some gears on my Pompetamine soon. Just wondered who's already running gears on horizontal drop outs/track ends and which hangers are you using. Any of these? Think they're all suitable but I don't know which would be best.
