Glad to hear it - for me it's been a pain in the dick at times, especially when I've got a big project and I want to add a send or something, or change an audio track to being a send and move it around in the mixer. Annoying.
Totally agree on the plugins though; they really are second to none. The Orange emulation is astonishing, right down to how the EQs work and how the distortion starts falling apart when you hit a certain point in the gain. Amazing.

You got any pics?
Date of manufacture?
Also, if anyone would be interested in a white Gibson Les Paul Custom, with a Gibson 1980s plastic hard case and a couple of subtle differences to a normal custom (nicer volume/tone knobs and a different colour pickup switch surround, both of which are original I think), let me know.
I would absolutely hate to see it go but I haven't swung it in anger in a couple of years, it's doing no-one any good under the bed at my parents' house, and time tough. And if I could pass it on to someone reliable who would shred it like it deserves maybe it would be for the best.

I'm actually looking to have a bit of a jam with my metal pals, put some kind of progressive doomy thing together - cult of luna meets pink floyd meets aphex twin ambient moments - and for that I need humbuckers.
Anyone here flogging a cheapie Les Paul or have any recommendations for similar stuff? (Not even going to bother asking about the one above, I need an Epiphone or something which doesn't mind being battered about in a rehearsal room.)

Get an Epiphone Wilshire, cheap, light, cheerful and loads of fun!
I don't play ANY of my 'nice' guitars anymore because of that thing... -

Nice looking out - heading out to a music shop after Xmas so will have a bash of one.
My old guitarist had a les paul custom, one of those three humbucker jobbies, and I always loved them - any views on the Vintage V100 'tribute'? Cheap as chips and probably less greasy...

Long shot but does anyone have an acoustic amp I can borrow?

No, I didn't... I played the Billie Joe Armstrong signature LPTV model about six months ago and that was lovely... £850 tho'... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I may nip into town today and see if anyone has one in... Very silly of me to even think about buying another one... I can recommend the Japan made Tokai Love Rock Juniors, I have a d/c TV and it's great... Lovely flat, wide neck... Better player than my '58...

Cheers. You can't wrong with Japanese stuff really can you!

Currently own a badly refurbished vintage '66 fender mustang. Bad repaint. Fucked up headstock etc.
Looking to part with it and get a jaguarillo or modern other modern fender offset at some point soon. -

^ why part with it? keep it and get a good refin when you can afford it shirley? The fender Johnny Marr Jaguar looks pretty sweet. Like the Jazzmaster reissues too.
Saw on tweetr this morning that London's famous London's bestest vendor of awesome old gear, Andy Hackett an his band http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Rockingbirds are at the Lexinton tonight. Supposed to be my one night of sobriety this week but it's kinda tempting.
On a less auspicious note, I played my regular residency at the King Charles last night. Few techy troubles throughout but finally got the hang of the various bits of PA and amps there. Got a pickup for my banjo and ran it though a little roland acoustic amp, both acoustic guitars went though a trace elliot acoustic combo and everything else (vocals and mics for the accordion, trumpet and a stomp box went though the house PA). Sounded really good by the end. Could still really use some help getting it set up though. I hate dealing with that crap at the best of times but it's a real nightmare trying to get that lot organised and set up in the corner of a heavingly busy pub, having to run extension leads under people's tables and having chairs banging into mic stands etc. I'm used to turning up and plugging in. Pints of grattitude if anyone fancies coming down in January to help out and/or sit in.
Anyway, was a good night with Lots of Hank Williams and Tom Waits coverage. Did a last encore of "The Weight", nice and slow on just banjo and accordion with three vocals and the whole pub* singing along in the choruses. That was ace. Just waiting for our fucking double bass player to turn up to one of these gigs with a working instrument. It's only been three months. The useless cunt.

The Rockingbirds are fantastic, Alan is such a great songwriter...
I haven't seen them this time around either...You should approach him about playing at his Sunday afternoon session, Al... Come Down and Meet The Folks... Not sure where he does it these days, usually somewhere northish...

Cheers Joe.
Huh. I didn't realise that was him. Been listening to the Rockingbirds all afternoon (I can't go tonight either). Pretty sure I've hit up those guys before. Will check. I really should just turn up one night and schmooooze. I got blanked by the Lantern Society till I actually turned up uninvited and played at an open mic. Then they were all charm and free booze. Anonymous emails are a sucky way to make musical friends.
Any more Fucktone action in the offing? Been a while (for me). When's Aram's right trotter going to be up to leaving a hi-hat open all night?

Is there anyone here who is an active member on a guitar forum with a good classifieds? I have a nice guitar I'd quite like to sell but I'm a bit out of the loop as to the best place to do it.
If anyone would feel happy posting a listing I write on my behalf me (or wants to buy a nice white Gibson LP Custom) then PM me and we will arrange some sort of recompense.

I've got hardly any posts on any UK guitar forums. Try musicradar? Plenty of pics, good description and prompt comms, and it shouldn't matter much that you're a newb. Beware though, it's a pretty ghastly time to be selling a high-end guitar :(
-
• #2045
Fair enough, cheers for that. Not desperate to sell it but could do with the money, so we'll see how it goes.

Biting the bullet. I'm finally missing the scent of socks, the lure of damp, the tinnitis, the squabbles, and the loathing of minor differences, and so I'm pulling a band together. Brilliant. Anyone got any recommendations for lively metalish rehearsal rooms in North/East London? Safety safe.
I've not noticed anything partularly laborious about creating tracks...
My workflow tends to follow the pattern that it would on an analogue mixer, I use buses and sends quite a lot. There are some wicked routing possibilities once you get into it. The plugins and amp sims on the latest versions are actually good enough to use seriously.
