You are right to ask 200, but it is too rich for me. If I had more cash, and a shed the size of yours I would be in the running. But thanks for getting back to me.

I'm thinking about riding to your place, camping in your garden, and rooting around your stuff!
Its only 780 miles from london (no including channel), and I have a caravan for guests as we get many visitors in summer.
I keep many of the bikes in hidden away at my parents place and would like to set up a private museum with magazine/jersey's relating to each bike.
It may look like alot, but the bikes are not really worth that much. There's guys in my cycling club with more than one 5,000 euro bikes.

Going to guess this is close to 1989, its a faggin track frame I am trying to sell. I dont live in a area suitable for riding a track bike so its up for sale. I have to de-box it and take a photo with the wheels on, doing that now.

Yeah, don't bring it on my account - but I am sure you will get the 200 you want. I almost feel bad for introducing the subject of money into the conversation.
I used to live somewhere sunny, it is pouring with rain here (London) and I am looking wistfully at your (outdoor) photos - such a nice light... I really really miss it. But it cheers me to see it, I am grateful for the photos.

Thank you for being grateful for the photos.
Thread went on for 24 hours, and is now over!
get off my lawn! This winter I plan to have more of the bikes perfectly fixed up ready to roll, and higher quality bikes.
I was surprised at the high average age in the thread, but no on was old enough to see this (1920's). It needs a pair off tyres and a repaint, I saw some correct tyres on on ebay.de once at 50 euros each, quite a lot for a bike I am not going to ride!

Too late, but here's another.
60cm Faggin, with chrome all up the rear. Campagnolo NR on clinchers.
would just need to push the seat up a little.
Needs brake levers changing and the brake cables need to be a little longer -

MMmmmm red and chrome.... thanks

The Chapeau bike.
Aero rear brake?

Aero rear brake?
of course!
Actually it was a cable routing issue as the cable has to run down the left side of the frame as there are braze-ons for it.
I didn't want to use up a left pulling side pull on this rubbish bike. Turned out quite neat. The reason why there's only one brake is that vintage levers for flat bars are hard to find. plus think of the drag I save

you think no one was born in '93?
-
• #96
Well, when I get to that bit of the/any website where you have to enter your date of birth, I flick back three decades to about 1982, and then I realise I am a little older than that now, and go all the way back to 67 - it can take some scrolling. I think I am probably rolling past the nineties too quickly to notice that they are available as a date of birth now.

1979, red... and I reckon bikes that are rusty as fuck are totally ace.
should be easy enough.

I know you've finished, but 21, and I've got a cough.

I know I shouldn't resurrect the dead (apart from on Sundays) but this is just the best thread I've read for an age. If I was wearing a hat I would tip it, as Provence Sir you are a genius and an intriguing guy to boot.

Damn fine read that. How did I miss it while it was alive?
I would get it clean and working, then first ask 200 as this one with out any reynolds, or a great 49d crank or mafac racers got 180.
picked up henley on thames, oxfordshire (train runs from paddington in 70 minutes) if possible.
I am also selling this in henley on thames, has white rain guards.
