I've found the commuter jeans to be pretty decent tbh. They're super comfy, stretchy, hang low, slim fit and I don't fall over trying to get on a bike like I do with stiff raw selvedge. Utterly bizarre that he describes them as "stiff, crinkly" when they're anything but.
I see he's "gently mocking levis" for going for "that demographic."
I think it would be easier to gently mock his pish article but there you go.
Agree as the jeans are really soft... been wearing mine since last summer... all good so far.

has anyone used the new washing/reproofing stuff? my rain jacket (cream) is well overdue for a rinse.
I've used nikwax before for other stuff but I would prefer to have a dirty jacket than loose rain proofnessI got the Merino wash to try out and I strongly suspect it's re-branded Graingers as that's what I usually use.
(Graingers works out quite a bit cheaper.)

Received my Softshell a couple of days ago and, as much as I love it, I think it's too warm. I'd love to keep it, but I'm not sure it'll get enough use and the pro team will be much more useful.
Official Rapha policy is : get a dog and walk it.

Or move somewhere colder.

Everyone keeps saying that the softshell is far too warm for this climate, which just makes me want to try one to see.

the long sleeve is borderline too warm for this 8-12 degree weather

It's too warm to ride at pace. For me, I think it would need to be not much above freezing to work. I'd rather the flexibility of adding or losing a layer if needed.

A softshell in a small might be a bit more use than in an XL. The larger you are, the slower you loose heat.

i only walk my dog in the softshell. i often walk past rapha hq with the dog hoping to be spotted by simon mottram and and for him to want to use me in a new rapha campaign due to my black and white photogeniness

Got to pick my Softshell up from the PO tomorrow.
Aren't Jan/Feb typically frosty? i'm hoping it'll come in useful.

Today was definitely too warm for Classic Softshell - but about right for the old faithful Lightweight Softshell
Long discontinued but "fine, albeit spendy" according to Bike Radar.

Head of IT job add, mandating a platform in the job spec. HARD FAIL.
Master of everything by the look of it...

Graingers is the wash/wax that Rapha said I should use.

Bastards didn't give me the grand prize in the #iwantoneofthese comp, even after this foto of me trying to get home on the Friday night before Xmas rather laden down with wine:
I wanted a car. Ooh the irony. Fortunately my brother has one
