No, it's the auto version. But I don't want to have loads of grinds left in the machine. Did weigh the grinds just now after whacking the machine a few times, had 13g so a bit better.

I do know what you mean about the lid, BMMF has done a similar mod to his grinder (Rocky?). The shute does need modifying, as there's a small lip on the bottom edge which stops grinds. A small file should remove that.

Funny though, all I read about the MC2 was nothing but praise, personally I think it's a bit shit.
