Most overrated - a thread about overrated things

Bladerunner used to be a favourite film of mine.

Watched it the other night and realised it's actually not very good.. Very loose in fact. A great film for it's art direction and camera/lighting. But as a whole. Very poor..

The doco on it after the film was good to see though.

I agree, the script is shit. Visually stunning, extremely interesting in the way it was made, but ultimately a pretentious nothing. That the 'famous' closing lines by Rutger Hauer were improvised by him tells volumes about the lack of direction.
