  • Looking good so far. I picked up a '91 allez epic a few months back, and am looking to do something similar when time, funds allow. First thing I'll be doing is changing the forks, the original alu ones aren't great. Can't wait to see how it looks when it's finished.

  • New bits are in!

Derailleurs, chain, cables and a fancy derailleur clamp.

Will be enough to finish the bike :)

  • Updates?

  • wrong cable choice, imho, the campag own brand just work better with the ergos

  • Updates?

Yes, been sanding off the logos from the forks to replace them with two smaller Time logos. This will require some rattlecanning for the black fade near the fork crown and to cover it all with a clearcoat again. I'll try get some photos up of this.

I have no experience with the Jagwire cables so will have to see how it all works together in the end.

  • Fork all done now, so could complete assembly. Put on a little less slave wheelset on (Mavic ceramic SUP rims, shimano 600 hubs) for now.

    Took some photos but they turned out shit so here's a write-up of the work done on the forks;
-sand off logos (600grit then 1200grit)
-apply black fade near fork crown (used duplicolor cans)
-apply logos (had gotten original time logos from ebay long ago)
-apply a couple of layers of clearcoat

Only needs some finetuning of brakes and shifters before taking it out this weekend :)

  • Nice one... Tempted to revisit my boneshaker alu forks and have another look at carbon now..

  • shimano hubs with campag groupset:
    How's that working out?

I got a problem solver Ambrosio 10speed cassette mounted. Shimano splines, Campa spacing. So it should work fine... (hopefully)

  • That bike is amazing looking 10/10, if you want proper photos let me know I'd love to do a proper portrait of it.

    dizzibird?

  • Trispokez ftw!

  • This bike is truly epic, one of my favorites by far. Love lugged carbon so much and this is perfect.

  • All about that stem. Bloody lovely.

Ah ha! Full marks to Ambrosio for a good invention, didn't know you could get them.

    Forks look great, btw

  • Thanks, yeah definitely a keeper this one. A secondary training bike (who doesn't need one). There is a chance I get bored next winter and change some things around of course.

Spotter, thanks for the offer but I'm not located in the UK unfortunately :/ . I'll try and take some better shots of it soon. After replacing the bar tape with something thinner and less grey looking, not happy the way it looks now.

    dizzibird?

No, these are original time logos I think. They're printed and not cut out of vinyl.

Accidentally I did order a Time decal set from dizzibird a few weeks ago for another project but the shade of yellow is slighty off (little towards orange) and the time logo was scaled along its length a little compared to these fork decals.

  • Matching trispokes now. Previously ran a rear HED but finally found a Specialized one for cassettes.

Next upgrade will be a carbon crankset.

  • This bike remains, the coolest

  • oohhhh my....awaiting upgrade.

  • That's bangin'

  • immense

  • This just came in, 2003 Record carbon crankset. I have ordered another Miche crono chainring to go with it.

  • yep.... they look godamn NOS. good find
