  • gone quiet on this... is it still on for the 19th?

  • Should still be on I imagine - clubman any news?

I had a good warm up yesterday, 60 miles in the pissing rain. Bring on the 19th!

  • Yeah, I'm still keen for the 'slow` effort! That is as ktb suggested aiming at 12mph

  • Bugger, just realised this is on the 19th as well as the Willy Warmer.

Think I'll ditch the latter for this.

  • this is on the radar. will ride it S/S most likely, if not, fixed.

  • Yeah, I'm still keen for the 'slow` effort! That is as ktb suggested aiming at 12mph

I like to think of it as 'steady' rather than 'slow'. But, yes, I will be going slowly. Company would be great!

  • Sadly I'm out of this as I have something else I need to do.

    Hah, yeah steady sounds good!

I will still need to get some practice in though, December took quite a toll...

  • this is on the radar. will ride it S/S most likely, if not, fixed.

Guiness on this ride and the Harp Hilly on the 20th? Happy New Year!

  • I'm in for this still and liking the steady pace group idea. I know there are a few others joining forces so if they like this idea then join in (looking at you JB etc)

  • ok then folks.

    i'm in for this.

definitely fixed, hopefully on my new wheels.

steady pace for me as the following day i'll be rolling this:

  • ^ will roll with you on this one steve. can't actually do the harp hilly this year as someone else has booked me on to something else.

  • ^ aces.

  • Pants, I'll be in France. Oh well, musn't grumble :)

  • Wouldn't mind joining the slow/steady pace group if there's still space? Would be riding fixed.

  • I suspect there are many interpretations of 'steady' going on here ....

Looking forward to / quite nervous about this, though.

  • Can we enter on the day? Am in, if I'm not working.

  • I'm definitely keen for this, I'll mostly be trying to keep up with Laner

  • In like sloe* gin. Will be riding fixed. Excited about the names already down.

*or steady gin as KTB would say.

  • ooh - the missus is away this weekend - I'm tempted to join in.
    .
Do we need to put our names down in advance with Hounslow Wheelers?
    .
    Chris?

  • Had a look at the page on their website. No mention of pre registering. Somebody please post if you know better

    yes si.

  • From what I read it was turn up, pay a fiver, give them your name and get on with it...

  • Hope to have recovered from this shocking illness, but happy to be in the 12-15mph speed group. Tis a fab route, some climbing but nothing horrendous. And best done in small groups, I should be riding 46x18, spare myself the 20mile dash from home and catch train from Waterloo.

  • Will be riding fixed.in the steady paced group. Haven't ridden properly since before Xmas so not feeling as fit as I should. Still definitely in though.
