  • I'm enjoying this a bit too:

    It's a pity it doesn't exist.

You say that, but what with the rear arches the loading bay would be halved. I guess it could be built as a fast hearse.

  • Did 805 miles to Edinburgh and back for New Year. Thought I would do a mpg calculation since I was going to be boshing a full tank while cruising at a (mostly) constant 80mph. Drove smoothly, sensibly, and imo efficiently, so was expecting a nice number. 25mpg. That means I probably get around 20 when in town and less when caning it.

Also, a line of 12 cars following nose to tail a guy doing consistently 20-30mph under the speed limit is infuriating. If they left a gap then I could overtake a couple at a time. Instead I had to overtake 5, 5, 1, and then 1. ANNOYING.

My car does over 30 mph at a steady state ~70mph cruise, I'm surprised that yours does so little to the gallon?

  • Hang on. Some Google trickery is going on here.

Google says 6.68 miles per litre is 25.3 mpg

But if you use the 4.54609188 litres in a UK gallon calculation, it's

291 miles on 43.5 litres which = 6.68965517241 miles per litre

    6.68965517241 * 4.54609188 = 30.4 mpg

    Much more like it.

  • My car does over 30 mph at a steady state ~70mph cruise

    Most cars do, at 70mph.

  • MPG, I meant.

I think you'd still get a bike in there (front wheel off) so that's pretty much all I care about.

  • Remove the & and everything after

to get it to link properly you want .com/watch?v=(video number)

Ok, so I get this link from the bar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=kzuesgGLPRI

    So, if I remove feature=player_embedded& I get:

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzuesgGLPRI"]Volvo
    245 with Supra engine Streetdrifting - YouTube[/ame]

  • It works! What a pain in the arse though.

  • Check out the Supra losing traction in a straight line, at speed.

  • EVERYONE should have space in their garage for an estate/family truckster.

my next one will be a bmw 525i e61, probably around april/may

  • One of these ticks so many boxes. In fact pretty much everyone except the one marked 'running costs'...

  • I had a look at the 3 series touring.

Definately the ultimate driving machine in terms of encapsulated cockpit.

I just needed an intravenous and an ejection seat.

  • Never liked any BMWs after the E30.
I'd have one of these like a shot though...

  • I considered both the 3 and 5 series touring - but 3 series is too small and 5 too big (and heavy) and the M5 was somewhat out of reach...

So went for a Subaru Legacy Spec B, which turned out to be an excellent decision - great chassis - plenty of room in the boot for our 2 greyhounds - an excellent 245bhp 3ltr flat six engine and a superb 6 speed (manual!) box.. literally the only downside is the fuel economy (which is shocking as is typical of Subaru...) but I only do 6k miles a year, so not such an issue really.

  • my friends bmw 850. drove it to munich for the champions league final. we're already planning on driving it to amsterdam for the europa final

Is it a CSI? Looks a proper tidy example.

  • I like the E36 touring, not such a fan of the newer ones. Is the 1 series that much smaller than the 3 series?

  • Had a play with a 964 on the way to Edinburgh. It's always been my favourite 911. This is on Pistonheads...

  • Tonight 10pm Channel 4

Apparently Pigfarmer puts in an appearance

Merc C Class, bigger boot than 3 series. Love mine.

  • Good call, although I was put off by horror stories of recent merc build quality

  • Mines done 103k in 3 years, no probs. it's the late 90's early noughties ones that are sheds

  • Impromptu car meet, Mont Ventoux on the 1st January 2013:

There should be something there for everyone.

  • R5, Karmann, Imp... Too many Porkers.
