Ed, i was surprised it didn't turn out a lot worse...... freezing water, huge fall, entangled in bike. doubt i would have done as well as her. My mate dangled over the bridge i held onto him, at one point his Carradice saddle bag between us. it was totally nuts!
Once again, thanks guys. I will try all those leads........ Rode along the canal today. Going to give it another go tomorrow.
It could have been dragged by a boat to a deeper part of the canal, or into a lock......
but no harm trying and putting the word out.
