TM, do you know when they're from? Hopefully I can convince my friend to by this bike rather than this (not entirely her fault, insurance only allows purchases from here or less in cash):

When is this frame from? How easy it it to get ceased seatpost removed from carbon. Potential dibs for a friend who really needs a replacement bike.
I don't know but as I said I can make a few calls.

In theory removal should be drama free, something about carbon and aluminium not actually bonding to each other chemically, so in theory enough twisting force should break the mechanical bond.
I only found this out after I sawed, filed and burnt a carbon seatpost out of a frame.... /:
It's a lovely bike this and very cheap, wish it were my size innit.
Cheers TM

I had a carbon post stuck in a steel frame - used these guys to get it out:
http://bicyclemaintenancecompany.co.uk/
Would highly recommend them (but not as much as I'd highly recommend using Carbon build paste when installing seatpost in the first place).
It took 4 blokes and the biggest vice you've ever seen to get it out but seatpost, frame and paintjob were all intact and it cost me £20!

It's an alu post in carbon, and alu lugged frame. Sorry for any confusion. ^ Ta for the advice

This is actually a horrid bargain.
Also one of the best seatpost/saddle combos on road

Well hopefully my friend will get back soon.

^^^^ No confusion - the removal method should be identical - big blokes and a vice - the SP hasn't chemically attached itself to the bike - the trick is not breaking the frame or the SP separating the two.
