I think Chamakh, Santos, Arshavin and Squillaci will all have takers this transfer window. It also looks like a couple of teams are in for Djorou on loan

The kid from Southampton, Adrian, Zaha and a strong holding midfielder would be my preferences.

I'd be sorry to see Arshavin and Santos go.

Arshavin could have been one of the best players in the world, but I guess that isn't going to happen now. I wonder why it hasn't worked out?

Santos is just great entertainment, whether he's playing well or incredibly badly. Every team should have a slightly overweight left-sided Brazilian. If only to watch him track back.

Chamakh is in the same boat as Denilson & Bendtner in terms of wages. I doubt that anyone is willing to pay them what they get now. I can't see any of them taking a pay-cut to go to a 'lesser' club, and I can't imagine a 'big' club coming in for them.

If we buy, I hope whoever it is turns out to be a surprise quality buy like Henry or Pires, rather than a much-heralded purchase who goes bad, like Na$ri or Reyes.
