This is Motty who came to live with us just before Christmas.
She looks like great fun :-)

I found out that you shouldn't give a cat Dreamies.. was a treat for Christmas Shadow went nuts for them and then got nasty when there was no more.. Instant cat crack addict.
You have been warned
Molly, notoriously fussy, is mental for these as well.

Got back from N.I. on Friday. Before we left (on the 20th), Jelly took another 24hr sabbatical but thankfully came back as we were about to leave. mrs_com_inlaw was popping round every day to feed the cats and said all was well until last Wednesday. After then, she didn't see Jelly, only Mogget. We got back on Friday and were instantly hit by the smell of cat shit as we walked through the door. Got in and since Thursday (the last visit from mrs_com_inlaw) one of the neighbour cats had come in and shit in our laundry basket, twice. I am assuming it was them as neither of our cats have shit indoors since they were kittens. One had also pissed in one of mrs_com's handbags. Queue some late night cleaning and much laundry, boil washes, hand washing, disinfecting etc etc. That still left Jelly missing.
Thankfully she returned yesterday (Sunday) morning. We presume she got fucked off with the other cats coming in but that was at least another 3 day huff. Mogget has also visibly been in a fight (big patch of hair missing from his right ear and a little scab). We slept in the living room which is next to the kitchen/back door for the first 2 nights in order to scare off the interlopers which worked at least once. It appears the sight of a naked, angry, hairy shouty Irishman is just as unpleasant to cats as it is to humans.
They both seem fairly content now. Jelly slept under our duvet for half of the night so I think she's glad to see us.

Glad all is well that ends well.
Think it's time to purchase one of these
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B003EGIM3O/?tag=hydra0b-21&hvadid=9550947789&ref=asc_df_B003EGIM3OOn a different note, Operation Cat Surveillance is progressing.
I also have a camera setup covering the kitchen so we can determine when he is jumping on the worktops, both cameras are set to detect motion then upload images to my PC so I can review them later. #geek

What variety of area denial weapon is going to be informed by this nascent targeting system?

We're currently researching, going through the process of perhaps adopting a cat this spring. Exciting times. -

Well once we've determined his kitchen trespassing habits, Mike is going to implement some sort of water cannon repellant.
He's also working on getting reports out of the automatic feeder and getting it to run on PoE.It's lucky we're not having kids really.

This is Wolfie you are seeking to re-educate, or another mog?
-
• #4538
Yeh, the Wolf - he knows the kitchen is out of bounds, but we have found dirty paw evidence on the worktops - so he must do it when we're at work.
His days of partying like its 1999 in the kitchen will soon be over..
-
• #4539
You could try sound before water - less likely to wreck the kitchen?
When our cats do something naughty I snap my fingers, at which point they visibly think "busted" and stop it/jump down/run away.
I think that a recording of such a finger snap (shout of "oi!"/similar) would probably work?

Or one of these

This made me laugh.

Animals are good child replacements. Easier in some ways.
-
• #4544
Cheaper too.
Dammit, the sound thing might be a good idea, The Wolf knows that 'Oi' means he's done something bad, I fear he may eventually get wise to it though and the Oi might lose it's meaning when he realises there's no follow up.
Also, next year we're going to make sure the cat is locked in the house before New Year Celebrations. Our Polish neighbours had some pretty epic
mortarsfireworks, The Wolf came in a bit later when the bangs had stopped, looking a little disturbed. -

Giving grumpy cat a run for his money...
That's abnormal :| Lool
I am not quite sure what you mean by that is abnormal? It's just a picture of my pet lion on Christmas Day? He saw our party hats and asked if he could have something similar, so we dyed his mane white to make him feel special.
