  • It could be possible to adjust 'pressure', but you'd need some kind of expensive/heavy/complicated mechanism that adjusts the pre-load on the 'spokes' of the tyre.

    Come back to this in a hundred years and we might have something useful.

  • I like that pneumatic tyres require regular upkeep, they force you to maintain constant hands-on attention to your bike, whether you DIY or take it to a shop. How many times have you patched a tube and then noticed something else on the bike needs attention? I also feel like fixing punctures and changing tubes/tyres is a great introduction to bike maintenance. Not to mention punctures being an indication of riding too close to the curb!
