oooo this is going to look really nice. I would scrap the yellow tyres though, black tyres, bar tape and saddle would look lovely on this.

Sweet, I think I'm going Colnago for my next project. I just love them, I cant help it.
If I find a cheap enough frameset like this, I am going to rat the fuck out of it. Nothing more cool than a beautiful frame with loads of mismatched old, but good quality parts.

Well I finished it a few days ago - when I say finished, I mean I can ride it. It still needs a few bits to be called complete. Here's a rubbish pic from my Christmas day ride - this was taken whilst fixing my mates puncture, shoving it in the bushes was the only option to keep it upright!
It needs;
Saddle - just bought a Selle Italia Turbo Matic off the bay, waiting delivery
Headset spacer - currently running a red Hope 1 1/8" which looks shit and works just as bad. Going to order a VeloSolo jobbie.
Tyres - Need some winter tyres. Think all black is the way to go but might consider tan walls, not sure yet.That's about it, will post some better pics when the weather clears up.

Oh yeah - it rides great, just needs setting up properly as it's dropping the chain and front hub is a bit 'crunchy'
Love the handlebars, a lot narrower than I'm used to but they feel great. So much so that I'm going to replace the bars on my De Rosa for narrower ones.

turbo matic is a great match colour-wise, but may not be such a great match bollock-wise, if you know what i mean. that was my experience anyway

Here's a better pic, taken after a clean and with different wheels/tyres.

Tan side walls for the win! What are they?

Just some cheapo brand from eBay, they're soft as shite and look like they'll last about 2 rides!
I think they were £12.99 for the pair!

Very nice! I know Panaracer Pasella get good rep on here as hardy gum walls, although not sure if you'd have any clearance issues with the guards? Otherwise Challenge Forte or Criterium from Planet X are good quality and look great. Haven't used mine enough to make any assessment of durability or p*ncture protection yet.

Colnagsnow (You see what I did there?)
First thread, first Colnago.
So after finishing my De Rosa Milanino, my Peugeot Competition 7000 Winter Bike, my MTB and then buying a Motobecane project, the last hing I needed in the shed was a Colnago frame.
Then a ridiculously cheap frame appeared on the bay and I found myself throwing in a bid with 4 seconds to go.
And here we are - I secured a canary yellow frame with chromed Columbus forks for less than £120 delivered from a guy in Belgium
Why so cheap? Some slight bulging around he top of the seat tube and paintwork scuffs and scratches.
Frame arrived within a week, very pleased, despite the poor packaging - basically arrived in a large paper bag with he front mech hanger sticking out. Turns out the bulging in the seat tube was the result of someone removing a stuck seatpost.
What the pics don't show is the really nice lustre the frame has, the yellow has a pearlescent quality to it, very nice.
So I already have a number of components waiting to go on;
Campag hubs with Rigida rims
3ttt quill stem
Cinelli Criterium bars
Campag mirage shifters
Freccia D'oro Seat
Fizik black bar tape
Jagwire yellow cable set
Various bits of Campag groupos, not sure what I'll use yet.
Just bought Campag headset and downtube adjusters off the bay too.
Done a quick throw together to get a feel for how it will look...
So I will be building this over Christmas, will keep you updated.
Any suggestions welcome!
