  • If you want to save money, I wouldn't bother with carbon steerer tubes for a winter bike. I've still got the same ITM Spider audax forks on my Racelight T that were fitted over 10 years ago. I just had a look, and the brake nut to pad measurement (to line up on Open Pros) looks to be in the region of 53mm.

    Don't know what my brakes are, other than deep drop Shimano Super SLRs. R450 or something? Would've been the cheapest deep drop I could find at the time. I've used 28s under mudguards, but they came up more like a 26.
