I just bought a delonghi EC152 from argos for £55. First ever espresso machine. Surprisingly now I can't sleep. I was thinking about changing out the steam arm with a ranchillo, but it's £20

This could be a sweet little setup for someone, and it's not very well listed.

I've got a ridgeless double from Coffee Hit that I tried for a bit. Obviously not as well finished as VSTs, but then it was only a third of the price. You can have it to experiment with if you want.

Cheers for the kind offer.
I just managed to order the vst basket and a ton of other bits through work.

There's a Caravan round there now isn't there? Or get down to LMNH/the numerous places in Old Street

We (receiving "couples" gifts these days) were given an antique coffee pot of sorts. Lid and spout may well be Lead, but it looks and feels lovely... pic to follow at some point.

My new 51mm tamper base is alloy, the old 49mm one is steel- significant weight difference, feels interesting in the hand.
Puck formation is better already.

Dammit, nice bit of Reg there.
My Mrs got me some nice new cups for X-mas. DJ would approve....
Hasbean and Squaremile tend to be pretty light roasts, and I often find them a bit sour, unless with a good bit of milk. I'm obviously generalising all of their coffees here.
You're right about Union though; even their "delcate" roasted Rogue is quite dark. However, we are talking about their espresso-specific beans, so it seems fair enough to me that they should be dark Haven't tried their single origins.
Question for Bombcup if you happen to see this: will the Kenyan Kiandu beans return next year, and how about the Ethiopian Guji Yiragacheffe?
I like the two current African beans on offer at Monmouth just now, but the fruitiness is less intense in the Kenyan, and the Ethiopian is less rich/floral to me. I wonder if maybe that's a seasonal thing due to the weather and crops.
