  • Probably been answered above, but am confused about how to fit one of these.

I'm thinking of the Barley Saddlebag, so could I just use the saddle bag loops

    http://www.carradice.co.uk/index.php?page_id=product&under=other&product_id=88

and strap it to the bike that way? I have a planet x saddle (the arione copy one) and am wondering whether the rails might just be too narrow.

  • It's not necessary, but does make it easier and tidier I reckon.

  • It also stops the bag straps sliding forward on the rails and putting the bag into the back of your thighs.

  • Sounds good, thought I might have to go for one of the SQR things at £25.

  • Round of applause for Debby whom wrote her name in captial letter on the Carradice Super C Audax saddlebag!

  • possible +1 for Janet as the bag I bought off gaz1979 is of her fair hands... unless he'd already added that one.

  • So not exactly a sausage fest at Carradice ten?

  • Quick tip - the smaller bags with the metal logo that have no way to attach a rear light actually do have a way to attach a rear light. If you have an LED similar to this one (anything that comes with a clip really) just slide it behind the metal Carradice badge. Apologies if everyone here except me already knew that.

  • Another quicktip, eBay seller bakedbeanman is the factory seconds outlet for Carradice. Slight stitching errors etc but look perfectly functional bags. Not sure if they would have names on the labels for our list... my money is on Sue though, at her apparent work rate the errors must start to creep in...

  • So I'm looking for a saddle bag for my road bike - something big enough to get a day's supplies in so doesn't need to be massive but big enough to get a spare layer in etc.

Being a shortarse I don't have that much of my seat post on show - prob 4 or 5inches at most...what would Carradice fans suggest?

  • Pooties dearest, I can lend you my Carradice Audax saddlebag to see if it fit.

I also have a fairly short bagman rack with quick release that'll serve as an indicator of whether you'll be able to fit a regular saddlebag on it or not.

Failing that, time to move over to the 650 crowd...

  • I will NEVER yield to the 650 crowd. NEVER! I'm sure Cafewanda can't have a very high saddle and still gets a Carradice on thinks

But yes, being able to try out someone elses Carradice would be much appreciated - will have a further think.

  • ^^^^ cheers, watching some stuff!

^^ & ^ im tempted by 650, not gna lie.

  • I have a spare 650b wheelset that you can put on the Bianchi with long brake caliper pooties...

  • Where can I get a decent shoulder strap for a Nelson Longflap? Carradice site is unnavigable - I'm sure they do one that fits with the aesthetic of the bag, but I just can't find it.
