• I received the WLCA BAR trophy today. First awarded in 1914!
Didn't know it existed until a couple of days ago when Malc from Westerley put my name forward.

Disappointing attendance from the member clubs though with lots of trophies going unclaimed as riders or club reps weren't there. So much history and a traditional social scene that seems to be disappearing as everyone focuses on racing and nothing else. I still find it fascinating compared to Oz race culture and I'm sure you'll regret it when it has gone.

Eileen Sheridan delivered a great talk about some of her record setting (LEJOG, 1000 miles) and race history and autographed my copy of Wonder Wheels. She's still lovely and enthusiastic at 89!
