Miss mouse, soo sorry to hear about the accident I know a little of how you feel as I broke a puppies legs playing with him when I was 18, I felt a like hell and that I'd nev forgive myself, it was an honest accident despite my good intentions, the pup was fine in the end but the day after he had completely forgiven me and slept peacefully in my lap for hours, we're still great friends despite him now being very old and grey!
As a result I'm 100% sure the little kitten is looking down on you and sending its love with no hard feelings and nothing but love for you and appreciation of the lovely time he had with you, focus on getting better, kitty is in a better place :)
