Closed or as they call it, 'deactivated' my Facebook a few weeks ago but I didn't delete any images etc before doing so.
Just logged back in (it tells you you can do this when you de-activate) and right enough, all my images were there, all my posts, all my info and likes and groups etc just as before.
Just spent half hour deleting everything more thoroughly.
Instagram I'm no so sure about. I'm probably as keen on it as I was on facebook a year or two ago.
I think this whole move towards images being used without payment etc is pretty inevitable and unstoppable. I have a degree in photography but have resigned myself to that fact that I'll probably never make any more money from it. Luckily though I can still do it for enjoyment and Instagram is a semi large part of that enjoyment for me right now.
At least with Instagram it's just your images and not personal info like with facebook. Or maybe I'm being naive.
