Sorry Tony only just seen this. Glad you escaped, was half expecting the evening news to about a St Mary's Cray hostage stakeout.
Great day out with great company. The route had loads of sections I plan on revisiting so thanks to switchback Corlis for that. It knitted together some roads I knew with others I had no idea about and so in a day made the rabbit warren of Kent lanes seem much more familiar.
Nature spots for the day, deer in park, dog eating rubbish in road, horse with rider and a bird of prey, (definately not a crow). Who said city folk don't know diddly about nature. And only1 puncture.
Incidentally what is the approved call out sign when you come round a corner on a descent and encounter a horse? I was at a loss for how to warn those following, obviously can't shout HORSE! in case it catapults rider into hedge and bolts, whispering horse seemed pointless and stopping and doing the Team America emergency signal

would surely have just added a new and distracting hazard, so I just slowed down and trundled by and hoped those following saw it.
Anyway top marks, shame I could'nt stop and join you in some post ride ales, next time.
