So I'd rather do a bit of training so I feel comfortable :)
You don't need training, you just need experience.
Go for a 20-25 miles ride first, see how it feel, don't forget to take tools with you, i.e. if hand start to feel sore, move saddle back a bit, or raise the nose a little more, hips rocking at every pedal strokes, lower saddle a tad etc.
No one need training for the London to Brighton ride, not even my girlfriend who rode it on a 7 speed dutch bike up Ditchling.
