Thanks for the heads up. When i arrived the road was cordoned off and when I was wheeling past on the pavement, there was definitely a bike in the road and, judging by your post, the shaken driver being attended to. I presumed he was the cycle's owner.
Agree about your comments re some of the fellow travellers along this route.
