  • Hello! Trying to PM also :)

  • Im looking for a front pannier like this one! where did you get it from?

  • New here, originally from Helsinki, Finland - but have lived in Hertfordshire most of my life. Previously worked at a BMX shop in Letchworth, and was there for a few years and I'm now at uni down south.

  • Welcome all - I'm a newbie myself - I'm sure you'll love it here.

    @mattias
Nice bike. Needs black bar tape (or white saddle and straps).

  • The Colnago's not a single speed.....but here she is, the old dear.

The pic is from last year - bike is now undergoing minor modification - Chorus pedals, retro bottle cages, amber wall tires - so that she fits the bill for some retro rides

Old, well worn and wouldn't trade her for any carbonfibre wonder!

    Cheers

Love the sprint colour way fades! Looks like a beaut

I lost a a pannier full of ears, just like that one

Yep, thanks - it's genuine 1988, Campy Chorus throughout (inner chain ring had to be be replaced after 20 years and about 60000 km, no Campy, and same story with 6 speed cluster, regrettably) but other parts still original. Thought of having her resprayed in Saronni Red but local cycle shop said "You'd be a fool", so she stays as is and now I've managed to get Chorus c-era pedals to put on her again - just need some Chorus toe clips, size L.

But almost 25 years on the road - and now about 80000 kms (even though I didn't ride from '95 to '05) - and she's still the love of my life (the wife doesn't read this forum!).

Cheers and thanks for the complis, Fahrgestell. I just wish I had been able to afford the chromed lugs, like your bike had, back in '88 and now as an OAP, finding her a sister is a financial no go!

  • And I don't know why my previous post came up twice - sorry folks!

  • Hello everyone!
Greetings from sunny Florida! Finally decided to join up after almost a year of lurking. Looking forward to riding in London next summer.

  • ^ Most people drive on the "wrong" side of the road here, so watch out!

  • Iknorite?
I lived in Glasgow for about 5 1/2 years. First time I tried to drive, I was kinda drunk, and got in on the (your) passenger side and got mad that someone stole my steering wheel.
Needless to say, I went back inside and passed out.

  • ^No worries then, you'll fit right in. What brings you to London by the way; are you moving here or just visiting?

  • Just visiting unfortunately. If I could move back to the UK I'd be off like a prom dress. But at least I'll be able to ride, watch a match or two, and generally just enjoy the city.

  • Another damn Italian in here...:P

  • Welcome Ranx!

  • Hi all, thought I'd join after after some extensive lurking. Been riding fixed, in Edinburgh, for only a couple of months, but loving it! The all-carbon, expensively group-setted monster now sits neglected, while I'm out getting back to basics...

  • hi there

yea i know what you mean, my mtb is on the wall since i got my fixie, girlfriend isn't happy tho :D

  • hi all,

finally joined after lurking about for abit, seems to be one of the only forums that tolerates swearyness and general bollocks. looks good!

  • General Bollocks can fuck off.

  • Lieutenant Cock can go with him.

  • can the chief cunstable stay?

  • He would of stayed if the grammar was better.

  • ah, touche.
    i've got nothing.

  • He would have stayed if the grammar was better.

    ftfy
