Yeah they are alright bikes for commuting. Not the best, but good enough as a building block for an FGFS bike. The curve in the seat tube is there to give the bike the control of a longer top tube, but the feel and maneuverability of a shorter frame. This also potentially makes it look cooler, if that is what you are into! It will definately be a good bike as a city commuter, but if you are looking for something a bit quicker something like a Fuji Track would be more suited....
