  • I'll see my pal next week so I can come along tonight to keep time / score etc.

  • Missed the train!... Thanks for the helping out all. Polo fun times.

  • score?

  • Word on the street is Goons took it. Ben you get my PM?

  • oh yeah i forgot, just replied

  • Goons 16 - Fukkers 8. Times and scorers tomorrow.

  • Missed the train!... Thanks for the helping out all. Polo fun times.

    Shit!

    You alright?!

  • i made that sound far too dramatic. just had to wait 15min for the next one...

  • So just two games left, before Christmas.

    Doughballs vs Beasts
    Slayers vs Green

You've got until the 23rd to play them.

  • Slayers vs GREEN (Money, Weed, Envy) will be next Weds at Mitch.

  • Slayers

  • We were going to play Doughballs vs Beasts tomorrow at Newington. But because of Jimmys injury its going to be next Weds at Newington instead (so Julia can field another player).

  • It potentially looks like I'll be out of the league until mid Jan, depending on surgery and recovery times.

  • What happened? Doesn't sound very nice.

  • Shit buzz Jimmy. Thumbs down. But there is a Christmas break, right? So you should be alright by the new year restart.

  • He fell on his thumb spoons.

  • thumb spoons can be really painful, heal up jimmy.

  • Ah that's horrible! Did it break? Shit Jimmy!

  • He's got 'mallet thumb'!

    But on his bike hand.

  • Two tendons did, Toddy. It's a bit of an annoyance rather than painful, the main concern is "will my left thumb be crippled for life?" but even that isn't a biggy: I'll still be able to grip, it's the extender tendons that are busted so I should retain my ability to crush things.

The hilarious thing is, I got a call yesterday in the early hours of the morning from a colleague, who on his way home drunk, decided to jump punch a sign. His thumb was on the inside of his fist. He's done exactly the same thing.

  • Also Louis, I phoned about the surgery and they said that you're right: I should've been advised not to eat breakfast incase they need to operate on the day, though she went on to say as much as they'd like to operate on the day, it's unlikely as there's a waiting list for hand trauma surgeons so I'd have to luck out on a cancellation or complication in another patient.

    13-7 Todd 53:10
    14-7 Jordan 54:35
    14-8 Todd 54:50
    15-8 Ryan 55:30
    16-8 Helen 59:58

First fifteen mins on the eastern court was slippy, dangerous, both teams playing cautiously after every person succumbed at some point to the thin later of frozen moisture forming underneath by crashing unexpectedly onto the ground. When the other court became available the game was moved there. The first half was fairly evenly matched despite finishing 9-5. But in the second half Goons opened up the lead some more and the Fuckers were never able to close the gap as time ticked on. Improved performance from Victor for the Fuckers, and Petor made his debut(?) appearance as the sixth member of Goons, getting stuck in to the game. Helen scored with two seconds left on the clock to finish the tie on a high note for the Goons.

  • Chuckers goal at 19.50 deserves a mention, perfect looping goal from nearer the half way line and fence than the area, don't know which hole is above the point where the wheel and post meet... But it was there whilst also being well below the top of the cones. Polo equivalent of top corner of the net.

  • Yeah that goal was unbelievable. What an arc.

Yeah, they should tell everyone, but they forget... A lot.

Because they forget there often are cancellations...
