My bike shifts by taking the wheel out and turning it over.

^^ why are the panniers on the front?
I'm assuming no rack mounts, also he has a Cetma on the front, so it makes sense to mount a pannier to that that dick around trying to p-clip an ugly rear pannier rack.
Add downtube shifter and modern 8x1 groupset and bingo, much much lighter and more direct.
Sizemore did that for you.
Look at this picture:
Now imagine how you'll be sitting on that. Then think about reaching down for the dt shifter.
I'm not saying it can't be done, but pulling up to and away from traffic lights which one would you rather do?
In any event it's a lovely bike and I want one.
I agree. If I had the money, I'd totally convert the Cannondale Rack to a a thumbie on the bars. I'd love to be able to change gears without removing my hands from the bars.
And yeah, I'd love to ride something like this.

how many times in the tdf do you pull away from traffic lights.
usually twice, depends on my chosen route

Hey, I thought this was a fixed gear forum.
Lose the hub gear and the block; no switching, no bending, no weight penalty. -

I have bikes with DT shifters, Ergos, bar ends and thumbies. Its comfortable and fun using all. Obviously Ergo's are most convenient but the shifters on my bikes that are thumbies, DTs and Barcons are all ancient and work flawlessly (and probably will do for eons). Ergo/Brifters will never last that long and are too expensive to keep replacing on all my bikes.
Also they just don't look right on some bikes.

In the whole tdf? impressive.

I'll be the first to admit to periodically circumventing the rules.

You've seen the bike with double chainrings and no front derailleur? How do you shift? With a stick!
Like the Cranes' 753 Raleigh eh?

Wasn't sure if this was rat/anti or whathaveyou. MTB frame and forks turned into commuter bike, somehow manages to be both flexy and really unforgiving!

That could've been better with normal V brake, 26" wheels and decent aero levers.

• #3289
That could've been better if it was completely different

Verbs you should check out On-One mary bars for bars similar to Priests but also the fleage bars, they've no rise and just a bit of sweep. They're nicer to ride with than either northroad or risers IMHO.

Yeah, I ldiscovered them a few years ago I was looking at those types of bars. I ended up getting some old 3ttt Valenica bars and they did the job. The Velo Orange Milan bars are nice too.
I'm currently using some bars that are very similar to Priests. Apparently they're TokyoBikes brand. Really nice.
