Not sure if this is the right place.. thread has the right name, but the content I am not following: Anyway, just bought a stem from Dereks Cycles Online on eBay to find it was badly scratched/gouged when received. I sent the following to Derek (?):

Dear derekscyclesonline,
Hello,
I have opened the parcel to find that the stem has been gouged quite deeply at the top. I don't think this has happened during postage, as apart from the rip where I have torn the parcel open (with my hands) there is no other mark to the wrapper. The gouge is quite deep, I imagine one would have to hit the stem quite hard with a tool such as a chisel to make such a mark.
Consequently I would like to exchange the item for another unmarked item the same. Please tell me how I would go about doing this. I assume that I will not be liable for the postage to return the item?
Regards

And got an almost instant response:

Hi, sorry to hear about the problem. I'll post another stem for you ASAP - There is no need to return the damaged stem, by the time I have paid postage and the hassle for you to have to go to the post office also.. Its just not worth it.
Leave it with me - I'll sort it ! :-)
All the best
chris

Turns out he is called Chris :-). Anyway, wanted to give the guy a mention. I think that is a good trader.
