  • My girlfriend and I want a kitten. Possibly two. I've been scouring Pets4homes, various rescue centres, Gumtree (feels wrong) and breeders websites. We've been looking at Bengals, Maine Coons, Norwegians, British Shorthairs (that's mainly me though), various domestics, but everyone is either just looking to offload their kittens NOW or I don't trust their adverts. We would prefer getting a kitten, not just for the fluffy cuteness but also to be able to raise the little critter, see him/her grow etc etc. Rescue centre is of course an option, but they don't tend to have many kittens.

Anyway, where would the other cat-people on here recommend going?
Try the Celia Hammond cat sanctuaries. There are several around London. There are hundreds of cats and kittens who need rehoming all year round. I was totally going to get one from a breeder but so glad I didn't.
